No direct subsidies or relief measures were announced to help the renewable sector. But two items worth mentioned are:

1) DISCOMs received a bailout package of Rs 90,000 crore. Improving the financial situation of the DISCOMs is a welcome move for all participants in the electricity sector

2) The goverment announced “Incentive schemes for Promotion of New Champion Sectors will be launched in sectors such as Solar PV manufacturing; Advanced cell battery storage; etc. “. Actual rupee value of these schemes are not yet announced, but it will reduce dependency of solar & battery installers on international markets
